In the thick of it!

Phewf!  What a couple of weeks it's been and it's not slowing down any time soon.  We're in the thick of the competition season with a Highland Games every weekend.  The College's bands and dancers have been trekking around the Maritime circuit and the latest stop was in Antigonish this past weekend.  It was their 150th anniversary and The College was honoured to take part in the festivities.  For pictures and results (soon to be posted), don't forget to check out our results page ( and photo gallery page (  Well done to all of our students who competed in the extremely hot weather.  They are tough conditions when you are swathed in wool from head to toe!  Our Director of Education, James MacHattie, found a unique way to cool of from the hot humid weather.  See below for the picture!  Well done to everyone for their perseverance and good spirits in such trying conditions!

Last Saturday, July 6th, our three College of Piping Pipe Bands participated in the Lobster Carnival Parade in Summerside.  It was another very hot, hot day and all members made it to the end of the parade route! The bands were delighted to find out that they were the top winners in the best performance entry-musical/acting.  Congratulations!

Join our College of Piping Pipe Bands and the College of Piping Dance Company for a fundraising concert on July 18th at the College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts of Canada in Summerside!  It will be a fantastic evening of music and dance with the students and instructors of the College of Piping. There will be a silent auction and a cake auction (and who doesn't love cake?!).  It will be a great evening of entertainment for the whole family.  Tickets are $10.00 and children under 6 are free.  Purchase your tickets by either calling The College (436-5377), emailing us at or by following this link:  See you there!
